Home Fit Homes was started in 2020 to meet the needs of an aging small town community in rural South Dakota. After experiencing the obstacles to achieving health promotion and prevention in traditional health care settings, Home Fit Homes was created to fill that service gap. The lack of community programs for active lifestyles and supports for safe homes was evident after seeing avoidable hospitalizations, re-admissions to the hospital, and patients discharged to the nursing home with no other choice. Although patients wanted to stay at home, too many environmental and physical barriers existed with no true service to address them. With a growing older adult population, Home Fit Homes recognizes individuals and communities want to stay independent, productive and active as we age. Our goal is make that a reality.

Our Vision:

to create a society where despite your age and ability you can engage in the things important to you wherever you wish to call home.

Our Mission:

to provide productive aging services that eliminate environmental and personal barriers to safely aging at home.

Our Core Values:

For our clients we value independence, quality of life, health and wellness.

As a business we value dependability, patience, empathy, creativity and work ethic.
